Bookshop Manager

A vacancy will be available from November 2023 for the Senior Manager position for Books Plus bookshop in the Atrium concourse of Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. The bookshop has a Christian ethos, and sells a wide range of cards, gifts, stationery and Christian and secular books. The shop has successfully traded since 2006. The post is for 28 hours per week, spread over 3-4 days. There is also an existing assistant manager who works 3 days a week, and so the intention is to have one day a week overlap. The shop is supported by a book-keeper, who produces monthly reports on the financial position and financial forecasts. The shop counter is staffed by volunteers, some of whom have been with the shop throughout its history.
The manager will ideally have experience in trading. Details and a job description are attached here. Starting salary is negotiable from £23,000 pro rata pa.
