Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage – Fourth and Final Round

Published: Thursday January 6, 2022

The fourth Picture of churchround of the Culture Recovery Fund, entitled CRH for Heritage: Emergency Resource Support, is open for expressions of interest. It is a revenue grant fund allocating funding from the increase in CRF funding announced by the Chancellor in the 2021 Budget. The allocation for heritage is £5m. It is currently expected that this will be the final open round.

More details on how to apply for this round can be found https://www.heritagefund.org.uk/funding/culture-recovery-fund-emergency-resource

Applicants can apply for grants of between £10,000 and £1m to cover core operating costs up to a point where they can demonstrate a return to financial viability. Funding cannot extend beyond 31 March 2022.

The Church Buildings Council assured DACs that listed places of worship are eligible and do not have to meet thresholds for other types of heritage, such as generating at least 50% of their annual income from heritage activities. However, this round cannot fund anything that would be categorised as promotion of faith, for capital projects, such as major repairs, or for the payment of staff who are not specifically employed to promote and share heritage.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 18 January (extended from 11 January), with those invited to apply after the EoI stage having until 3 February to do so.
