Gloucester Diocesan synod in 2020 set an ambitious target of achieving carbon net zero by 2030.

General Synod made the same commitment in 2020 meaning that our work in this area has significant support from the national church who are offering a series of webinars on aspects of achieving net zero carbon.   The Church, both locally and nationally, considers this important with both the reality of the climate and biodiversity crisis in mind, and the encouragement within Christianity to care for God’s creation.

Some of the webinars are a general introduction, such as the one which introduces a vision of a net zero church.

Others tackle specialist topics such as heating, or solar panels, with an awareness of the particular challenge to churches.

The full list of webinars is here, including both future offers that all are invited to join, and recordings of previous seminars that are available to be watched back.

They come highly recommended as bringing a good balance – not too technical to be easily understood, but technical enough to offer practical insight.
