Art projects from the Christian Arts Festival

Published: Friday July 24, 2020

The Christian Arts Festival is encouraging people to make their own teepees and mini willow lantern houses this summer, with the aim of having them on display at a rescheduled arts festival next year.

Nikki Seville, organiser of the Christian Arts Festival said: “There’s the opportunity for your willow lantern houses or tepee to be part of an installation at our Festival of Stars in Whaddon. “

The teepees are covered in canvas fabric, which you can then paint, to make a personalised and unique garden den.

The provisional date for the Festival of Stars is Saturday 8 May, 2021.

There are detailed instructions for making the two art installations on the new Christian Arts Festival website, which was launched earlier this year.

The festival is also running an arts competition which will be judged by PJ Crook, the artist behind the altarpiece at St Michael and All Angels, Bishop’s Cleeve and Bishop Rachel.

The closing date for the art competition is 1 October 2020. You can find more details at christianartsfestival.org
