As Bishop Rachel shared in the Bulletin on Tuesday and is fully supporting, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York are inviting Christians to pray for the nation over the next month of lockdown in England.
Starting today (Thursday 5 November) we are being encouraged to pray daily for a specific area of national concern, culminating in a collective moment of prayer at 6pm each evening, with cathedrals and churches across the country invited to ring a bell at this time.
There is a simple weekly cycle, praying for a specific area each day including the NHS and frontline workers, the bereaved, and those struggling with physical and mental ill-health, and for children and young people.
A selection of resources including daily prayers, social media content and a prayer booklet have made available on the Church of England website to guide prayer during this period.
