Today is International Women’s Day 2018. Early last year, five inspirational speakers, all driving change for women around the world, spoke at an event hosted by Bishop Rachel in the House of Lords. Themed around the IWD annual topic ‘Be Bold For Change’, the event was hosted in partnership with Restored and Christian Aid.
“Women represent half the world’s population, perform nearly two-thirds of the world’s work hours, receive 10% of the world’s income, and own 1% of the world’s property, and that’s why at Christian Aid, we often say that ‘poverty has a woman’s face'”
~ Loretta Minghella, Chief Exec, Christian Aid

The aim was to give guests and parliamentarians a deeper insight into faith leaders’ commitment to secure a more gender inclusive world and to inspire each person to engage actively with this issue.
