The Ugly Duckling Company has released KOBLE, an exciting new resource to equip worshipping communities to explore mission in their context.
KOBLE (a Norwegian word meaning ‘connect’) looks at the 7 D’s: Desire, Dwell, Distinctive, Dialogue, Delivery, Decision and Discipleship. The aim is for worshipping communities to use KOBLE to help them connect with people furthest away from faith.
UDC has developed a study guide for home groups, staff teams, PCCs and whole church congregations to explore how worshipping communities can connect with their wider communities. (A sampler of some of the themes and questions was made available at the clergy conference in September, so please ask your local priest if you are interested to find out more.)
The Diocese has partnered for some time with UDC and as part of this partnership, UDC is offering to support worshipping communities to run KOBLE for free. They would be very happy to come out to your deanery meeting or PCC to discuss further.
Based in Aylburton, Gloucestershire, UDC is passionate about helping people find life in all its fullness through the power of conversation. As a Christian charity, they work to highlight the importance of conversation and spirituality, as well as equip people to have more meaningful dialogue with one another.
For some time, the Diocese has used other UDC tools, such as TableTalk, in a number of ways, including sending packs to all of our Church of England primary schools. Their Happiness Lab and Resolve courses have also been run in parishes across the diocese and in Gloucester Cathedral.
UDC is also planning more projects in partnership with worshipping communities. Some of the exciting projects planned are a suite of new 10:10 and Table Talk resources aimed at young people and families. The new resources will encourage people who are far from faith to have meaningful conversations about the things that really matter.
