Bishop Rachel has cut the ribbon on a new centre for Gloucestershire-based counselling charity Listening Post.
The new venue is in St Mary de Lode Church, St Mary’s Square, Gloucester.
Bishop Rachel, who is a Patron of Listening Post, said, “Within this season of Spring and Easter, of resurrection, wholeness and hope, it feels an appropriate time to be officially opening Listening Post at St Mary de Lode.
“When people come to Listening Post to be listened to, carrying their stories, may they find hope and restoration”.
Supporters of the charity gathered to celebrate the occasion and expressed their appreciation for the comfortable counselling rooms and welcoming atmosphere.
Listening Post provides a professional counselling service to adult residents in Gloucestershire who might otherwise face financial barriers to accessing such services. Clients facing challenges such as loss, bereavement, depression, relationship difficulties, or past trauma can find a safe and confidential space to talk about their experiences without judgment.

Beyond Counselling Services: Training the Next Generation
Listening Post’s commitment to mental health goes beyond offering counselling services. They also offer Level 1 to Level 4 counselling courses, contributing to the development of future counsellors in the community.
